The piece is truly a functional piece of art and a rare find (there were limited quantities made of this piece) and it is in pristine, 1st quality, new condition (albeit no longer made) and it has had no previous owner.Baker's Neoclassical Dry Bar from the iconic Palladian Collection. This dry bar is made of beautiful Cherry Wood and finished in Baker's proprietary Cherry Wood stain. The top is in a high gloss finish while the remainder of the piece (both the exterior and interior) are in a satin finish. The 2-piece top has a 1.5"W band of Cherry wood (mitered at the four corners) with a beautifully grained Cherry wood top which has been "match booked" to created an uninterrupted flow in the natural wood grain pattern across the entire 2-piece top. The 2-piece top folds out (secured with 2 small solid brass hinges) to reveal the bar's durable black laminate-clad working surface which is supported by a 1.75"W wood pullout on each side when the top is in an "open" position (pull out is via a small brass knob at the end of each pullout). The 2 front doors of the cabinet have a 2"W profiled Cherry wood frame mitered at the corners with a Cherry wood inset that reflects a diamond-shaped pattern in 2 contrasting grains/stain colors to create additional interest. The exterior bottom of the cabinet features multi-dimensional profiled trim work which is 4.25" in overall height and goes completely around the exterior of the bar (including the back). The doors come with a brass strike plate & locking mechanism which uses a skeleton key to secure the doors shut (i.e. child resistant). The exterior sides of the bar cabinet are also in a naturally-grained Cherry wood and the back of the bar is in finished Cherry making this piece an ideal candidate for "floating" if desired. At the exterior front of the cabinet there are two (2) profiled decorative vertical columns (one on each side) in a matt black lacquer finish that are each capped with a Gold-plated scale-appropriate Neoclassical figurine head reminiscent of Ancient Rome and a bottom small metal profiled element at the bottom. Opening the cabinet reveals a well designed interior including a top pull out drawer for barware, a bottom stationary shelve to hold liquor and a 2nd adjustable shelve which can be placed at the desired height and used to store stemware. The top of the adjustable shelve has a "swirl" Cherry wood grain which is absolutely stunning. See less
