These whimsical vintage Italian salad/dessert plates are perfect to use on the table or for a cheery wall display. The design consists of a yellow & blue rim encircling a center medallion of a stylized blue winged/golden breasted bird in the Italian folk art tradition.
Fabricated by a leading tableware concern in the mid-to-late 20th century, San Marciano Ceramiche of Civita Casellana, Italy, a historic city located north of Rome. Their mark is included on each plate.
Very good vintage condition, no chips, no cracks, no crazing; a few tiny glaze flaws, typical of artisan made pieces, on one edge and back that are not readily seen.
