This handsome pair of Saarinen chairs have just been updated and are ready for your home! First off, they date to the 1960s and are early production as they have fiberglass backs. The original black finish has been touched up but I made sure the edges kept their patina. . . . so they look their age only better. . . . and the seats are 100% brand new! I replaced the foam and padding and made new covers in a vintage Knoll wool upholstery fabric featuring a handsome greek key weave. It is neutral yet spunky and definitely era appropriate. Piping detail around edge. Polished up the chrome legs which had a bunch of surface rust but just needed some elbow grease. One chair had some cracks in the fiberglass down low where it curves under the seat. Those areas have been filled with epoxy for reinforcement but are not visible in use.

MadModWorldVintage restorations are always made to honor the history of the piece but I like the structural work to be updated and issues minimized. These chairs are comfy, look great and will look fantastic at your dining table or as accents in your room. Mix and match them with a different style chair and create a fun and unique space.
