He was known for his innovative techniques and designs. His works are of highly treasured and in the collection of the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.

When Edenfalk was working on art glass at the Skruf Glassworks in Sweden, he designed several sommerso vases like this example here. Sommerso is an Italian term meaning "submerged." This vase has a clear exterior encasing a smoke inner color to create a submerged effect, resulting in a rich layered hue. The facetted edges at the top added highlights to this successful design. His signature is etched at the bottom edge.

This sommerso vase was purchased at Carson Pirie Scott Company in Chicago during the late 1960's. I highly appreciate its elegance simplicity. It was aesthetically pleasing then, and it still remains as a well designed Swedish glass from the Mid Century Period. See less
