Two fine French hand carved fauteuil chairs and sofa parlor set decorated with a giltwood tied ribbon and bow motif. The sofa is on castors and has a surprisingly solid and sturdy wood frame, same for the chairs, which are not on castors. On the left side of the sofa frame, the top half of the ribbon/bow is missing (see last photo). This is the only area of repair that is needed, besides re gold gilding. A fabulous set and a rare find.

Loss to gold gilt and some bad attempts were made to touch up gold gilt. Upholstery is very good but dingy from age and needs a good professional cleaning. Set is solid and if it arrives any other way, the shipper did it. less
