The centrepiece was designed by leuteritz using old moulds in the rococo style: a round, flat, cone-shaped base with abundant rocaille relief decoration, a strong palm tree rising in the centre on a small pedestal, around which a gallant couple in elegant rural rococo costumes is hiding and teasingly chasing each other behind the trunk, on the palm crown an oval basket, the lower outer area of the surface modelled on a shell, above it a curved wall with intricate openings, wavy edge with rocaille decoration. The palm tree trunk and the outside of the wickerwork of the basket are richly decorated with sculpted flowers and foliage, the finest polychrome painting with gold staffage, filigree bouquet and insect painting on the upper inside of the bowl. The centrepiece is supported by an original matching pedestal, which rises on four strong rocaille feet and is also richly decorated with plastic flowers and foliage, and on the top side is decorated with a painting of scattered flowers and insects. Designed by ernst august leuteritz (1818-1893): he studied at the academy in dresden, was a sculptor and from 1849 to 1886 he held the position of head of design at the meissen porcelain manufactory, and in 1882 he became professor. He worked on vessel shapes and figures from the 18th century and designed vases, centerpieces and candlesticks in the styles of rococo and classicism. Design of model 2772 circa 1860-1870.
