It has been newly upholstered in vintage age appropriate … Read more Here's a beautiful daybed that blends Hollywood Regency with Danish Modern. It has been newly upholstered in vintage age appropriate fabric. The bolsters are also of vintage age appropriate fabric that contrast nicely to the cushions. High density foam was used to make for a firm mattress if it is used for resting. The frame was manufactured in Yugoslovia (Slovenia) in the 1960s. The Yugoslovians were known for creating knock offs of Danish designs and this piece is no exception. It strongly resembles a Peter Hvidt creation. He often used caned pieces for chairs and daybeds, which can be seen on this design. Chevron lines on side panels were meant to woo the American consumer. Original stained wood is either beech or maple native to the area it was created. Overall, the remake is stellar and worthy of many settings from sunroom to bedroom to sitting room. See less

Line on bottom cushion due to fold and oxidation from age (see picture 5) cannot be seen when top cushion is in place. Overall clean and stain free with no odors. New dense foam utilized in construction of cushions.. Frame finish is original and shows some light wear. Rattan sides are not broken and are fully intact. Frame is sturdy. Bottom right corner was braced underneath to keep it from separating and there is a small repair (see picture 11). Metal springs newly covered for extra support. Brass caps on legs are oxidized. Overall, excellent vintage condition. Please view pictures closely. less
