That was the period when Liu Shaoqi, a high ranking politican was in power, he supported and encouraged Chinese craftsmen to produce good quality work. Therefore Chinese art and crafts of this period are outstanding.

The clear crystal bottle has a flattened globular shape tapering to a short raised oval foot and a flat top with a generous opening.. The distinctive features of this bottle are two carvings. On one side is a double gourd with ribbon ties. On the other is a large bird. It is matched with an amethyst stopprt, and a cork core. It has its own oval footed hardwood stand that has an old label.
