The form is … Read more This jasper bottle is jasper infused with swirls of grey, rust, and mingled with thin black lines. The form is very unusual - it is tall and slender. It is also very well made. a long flattened oblong form, tapering towards a small raised oval foot. A tall neck has a slightly concave top. It is hollowed. It is one of the bottles I purchased from an English collector who was in the British Navy working in the South China coast. In his spare time, he searched for snuff bottles in the shops in China and Southeast Asia. Snuff bottles made in the 1970's were well made. The impetus of snuff bottles coming into the marketplace was due to China needing foreign cash after the disaster of the Cultural Revolution. See less
