These glamorous low cabinets by Pierre Cardin feature gold washed brass with opalescent lacquered shell detail. The main body of the chests are finished in high gloss lacquer. The lacquer has been recently refreshed. This pair is in very fine condition.
Pierre Cardin was a famous French fashion designer (1922 - 2020), Well known as an innovative fashion designer, Cardin ventured into furniture design in the 1970s, eventually partnering with the Paris based manufacturer Roche Bobois to produce what have become iconic furniture lines. Roche Bobois is one of the world's most successful high end furniture manufacturer, known for break-through design, the highest quality and use of exotic design materials.
