Each fauteuil is built in solid walnut with a tall rectangular back, deep seat, and richly carved open arms terminating in expressive ram heads, a striking decorative motif associated with strength and nobility in 17th century French design.
The chairs stand on turned front and back legs joined by an H-form stretcher, lending both stability and architectural presence. The frames retain a beautifully polished walnut patina with warm reddish undertones that highlight the quality of the carving and the natural grain of the wood. The curved arms and scrolling supports create a graceful silhouette while maintaining the substantial character expected of Louis XIII seating.
