An absolutely beautiful Antique French Silverplate Table Crumb Tray - Crumber. The Basin is Hand Engraved - Decorated in the Classic French Rococo Style. This is a very fine quality - well made piece. It has a Substantial Weight - Base Metal Appears to be a Hard White Metal. It comes from the Late Victorian Era - Circa Very Early 1900s.
It is Signed by the Maker
These are the initials of the Soci't' Fran'aise d'Alliage des M'taux, founded in 1894 by Augustin Vermand. SFAM was a renowned manufacturer of flatware for hotels, restaurants and ocean liners. There are two other marks on the upper parts - the indication 'M'tal Alliages Blanc' and the 'poin'on de la bonne foi' ('good faith' mark), showing an image of shaking hands above the number indicating the silver content in grams (10 gr.).
It Measures 1 7/8 inches Tall x 9 1/2 inches Long x 8 3/4 inches Wide.
