This small but striking mid-century modern Murano chandelier has three scroll arms and features rostrato detailing in the manner of Ercole Barovier. The body and arms of this piece are made of clear, colorless Venetian glass. The various techniques used to create this piece are a showcase of masterful glasswork and a reverence for craft.
The glasshouses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers made of pincered and molded blown glass. The rostrato technique was pioneered by Ercole Barovier, consisting of an outer layer of rows characterized by spikes called "rostri" that protrude from the surface of the chandelier. The various textures and surfaces of this piece allow for the dazzling cristallo glass to interact with light in a breathtaking fashion.

This chandelier is rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes five base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred length. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Glassblown and molded by hand, no part is perfect or identical. There might be natural imperfections, but no chips, or cracks in the glass. It is intact and stunning. Please see all the images, especially the close-ups. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. This fixture will require special handling and shipping by an experienced white glove service experienced in dismantling, packaging, and reassembling upon installation. To ship, it is dissembled.
