LARGE SIZE - … Read more This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Authentic Antique American Country Primitive Dry Measure. Circa Late 19th Century. LARGE SIZE - Measuring 7 3/4 inches Tall x 16 inches Long x 4 1/2 inches Wide. This Would have been Used to Measure Grains, Rice, Beans, Seeds, Flour, Etc. They were Typically Used in Country Stores - Wholesalers & Retailers - Farms Etc. It is Completely and Substantially Hand Made with Steam Bent Oak Sides with a Added The Perimeter at the Top Rim and Base are Bolstered with Steel Straps as is The Bottom Underside Panel. Note that the Bottom Panel is Made Out of Pine Wood. It also has 2 Attached Cast Iron Carry Handles. It has No Markings. It is in Outstanding Condition - Looks Like it has Seen Very Little Use Over the Years. NOTE that the Outer Varnish, Red Painted Interior and Black Painted Metal Features are 100% Original with Excellent Natural Age Acquired Patina. It Displays Beautifully! It has No Maker Marks but it is Absolutely American in Origin - Possibly ? Made in New Hampshire.
