This stunning modernist chandelier is comprised of a brass and iron frame, large glass bobeches and brass cups. This unusual fixture has been newly wired and can be displayed in homes with any ceiling height. Can be hung as is or hanging from a chain at desired height. Offered chandelier dates from mid-1950s to mid-1960s. This chandelier is unsigned however this example has been documented in publications on both Gerald Thurston and Lightolier.

Gerald Thurston born in 1914 was one of the most innovative American lighting designers of the postwar era. He earned acclaim for his lamps and lighting fixtures, which exemplified the streamlined forms and sleek materials of the mid 20th century. His long-term work with lighting company Lightolier over the course of the 1950s and 1960s resulted in some of his most iconic lamps, which are still coveted by collectors today. See less
