Rare and beautiful gilt bronze clock with rotating dial made for the 1807 exhibition after a composition by claude gallé, regarded as one of the best bronziers of the late louis xvi and empire periods.
gilded and green bronze, a green marble base and two women, symbols of liberty, hold a headband with the inscription 'l'oubi du temps'. A woman holds a wreath in one hand and hides with a light curtain the hours that appear in the terminal window, whose upper part is surrounded by a double laurel branch.
the three figures represent the hours, in greek mythology, a group of goddesses who resided over the seasons daughters of zeus and themis, personified the order of the world: eunomia represents the laws, irene represents peace and dice justice.
