The soft yellow honey color jade snuff bottle has a flattened rectangular form slightly tapering towards the flat foot with a concave bottom. The square shoulders end in a straight neck with a concave top. A continuous depiction of a lotus plants, with a solitary open lotus blossom standing alone amidst lotus leaves and another flower and unopened buds are carefully done in raised carving (which is more work intensive than engravings.) It is matched with a green jade cap which makes a nice contrast with the yellow jade. The carving is very subtle and the artist/carver cleverly carved above a rust color vein so it became the base of a large lotus leaf.
The bottle is of a smaller size than contemporary bottles which gives the impression that is is older and definitely had been in use as evident by the remains of snuff inside. It is well hollowed and has smooth interiors. That and the concave foot and top add to the confirmation of good age.
The word jade used by the Chinese is inclusive of other hard stones that include agate and calcite. Nephrite jade does not have the texture of Burmese Jade. The yellow color of this bottle is flat and solid.

There is a rust color vein which is natural to the jade and it is a fissure. Fissures do occur in jades. The carver was clever to incorporate it into the lotus designs. less
