This striking vintage art glass bowl was made in Czechoslovakia by Bohemia and features an expressive freeform sculptural design in richly saturated cobalt blue glass accented with soft blush-pink and clear crystal elements. The dramatic folded rim and fluid organic shape give the piece a distinctly modernist feel, while the substantial pedestal base creates incredible depth and light refraction from every angle.
One of my favorite details is the way the colors shift throughout the form — deep cobalt blue melts into transparent crystal and the rosy pink tones standout in the center and base. From above, the interior resembles a stylized flower or starburst, while the side profile feels almost wave-like or biomorphic. It has a wonderfully heavy, sculptural presence that makes it read more as art object than simple serving bowl.
A beautiful centerpiece for a coffee table, console, or dining table, especially in interiors that lean mid-century modern, postmodern, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic.
