The body is nickel plated brass with overall intricate ornate pattern and a white marble shelf. The front cap is open showing a panel underneath with dollar/cents and customer/sales counting windows; the lid doesn't close easily due to the age. Above the counting panel is the original glass compartment that contains old-school paper numbers indicating the amount of the purchase for the customer. Decorative brass panel on top has remained name of the owner, supposedly. The serial number is 1323758 which dates it to 1914. See less
