The round serving platter is made in the late 20th Century of heavyweight off white ceramic pottery. It features beautiful hand painted and glazed design patterning details in a vibrant multicolor palette by the American ceramics artist and designer Phillip Maberry.

For more than 35 years Phillip Maberry ( B. 1951 ) has created one of a kind ceramic sculpture, reliefs and objects for gallery and museum installations, as well as having fulfilled numerous residential and commercial commissions. His emphasis has always been on Modern interpretations of past decorative styles, infused with an optimistic spirit.

Maberry has had regular exhibitions at The Garth Clark Gallery in New York City, Frank Lloyd gallery in Santa Monica, Ca., and The Whitney Museum of American Art Biennial. Work by Mayberry is included in the permanent collections of The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Newark Museum, and The Victoria and Albert Museum London, among others.

The rare hand painted Contemporary art pottery ceramic serving platter measures 13 1/2" DIA X 1 3/4" H.
