The ‘body’ is wood but the decorative embellishments are likely formed of gesso which was common during this time period. Zinc ‘feet’ give stability. Ornate craftsmanship throughout. These elegant, rare bookends will add an antique touch to your library or study. Corners and other spots are worn and missing finish- consistent with age and use.
