Handwoven in 5 ply in a weft Ikat design of a traditional Persian design
Jewel tone Golden yellow contrasts with bright turquiose blue
Warp threads are hand dyed in golden yellow, Weft threads are then dyed in turquoise and shades of green that give this saree a jewel tone effect
The turquoise blue borders and pallu with Gold tone 'zari' borders, is grounded by the dramatic sea of repeating diamond pattern with the auspicious mango motif for prosperity
The Pallu is a field of broad bands of zari woven tight in geometric patterns (photo 2 & 3).

Traditional dyeing and weaving techniques from Poochampalee, South india have been used in this silk saree by the master weaver. A dramatic effect is achieved by the traditional ikat (motif), the classic contrasting color combination of golden yellow and turquoise blue.

To complete the attire, a matching silk fabric in the same color as in the border (photo 3) and adorned with gold tone borders makes up the unstitched blouse

Approximate Dimensions: Sari 47" x 6 yards; Fabric for Blouse - 47" x 38" Border width - 3.5" Palla Length - 33".

This saree has been woven by hand and may have slight irregularities that are a natural outcome of the human involvement in the process. Any imperfections are not a flaw. To preserve the characteristics of this saree, the weaver recommends storing this saree rolled or loosely folded in acid free paper. This saree will be shipped loosely folded. See less
