The artwork is under glass.

Not only is the handiwork top notch, but as you've already noticed, the artwork is stunning!

The naturalistic theme of the gilded jesso over wood compliments the subject and reminds the viewer of the French love of Nature.

This screen is fragile and has had its bumps along the way. There are repairs to the top leafy element above the artwork (breaks have been re-glued). On the right leg, in front, there is some damage to the leaves. There is a repair to the fabric, running left to right a few inches down from the top, just higher than the highest feather. There was probably a rip; it's been mended and the repair painted out black. It's only noticeable upon close inspection, and the lovely subject and overall impact of this work of art don't lead oneself to make close inspection.
