This shape is sometimes referred to as a brush pot, and we have also seen it referred to as a hat stand. While the versatility to garner these names is obvious, it really is a very sleek vase which will look fabulous on a mantle, on a table, on a book shelf, or on your patio. Many 20th century Chinese and Japanese pieces of export porcelain were sent to Hong Kong for the final hand painted decoration, but we have been able to verify that the stamp originates from a Japanese artisan workshop.
