Late Federal pair of painted New England armchairs having wonderful, scrolled arms, gilt stenciling, rush seats, and custom feather down pillows. These chairs have dowel joinery and are incredibly sturdy. They are also very clean without any flaking of the finish. Circa 1820-30.
Note. Measurements under DETAILS do not include seat height with cushion. Cushion is about 2" high.

- The chairs are in excellent antique condition. Sometime over the years, they have been restored without compromising their normal age … moreThe chairs are in excellent antique condition. Sometime over the years, they have been restored without compromising their normal age related wear. The finish is smooth and probably a thin coat of vanish was applied to protect them from any more loss, like flaking off of the paint. They have lots of character. Pillows have no issues and really compliment the chairs. less
