Silhouette, probably 1700's, in birds eye maple frame, indicative of the era. It measures, including frame, 7 1/4" H x 6 1/2" W. The Commander's last name, Montcalm, is noted underneath the image .He lived from 1712-1759.
This profile is a wonderful historical work that would add warmth & historical significance to any décor..The condition of the frame is very good. The silhouette does have a few small white spots, commiserate for its age. Please see pictures.
Louis Joseph Montcalm was the French Commander in Chief of the North American Forces during the Seven Years War.
