Will Dexter's drip vases are one of a kind hand blown glass. Each piece is unique and spontaneous, using heat of the glory hole and the weight of the added drips to create a piece that still looks as though it is motion. The piece starts as a hot glass bubble at the end of a blow pipe. It is then shaped, and the solid glass drips are added on to the bubble. Each drip vase takes from 45 minutes to two hours to make, depending on the size of the piece. There is a team of three to six glass blowers who work to make each drip vase come to life. When finished, the pieces weigh between 20 and 65 pounds.

Dexter received a BFA degree from Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park, PA and a master degree from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design. His work has been exhbited throughout the world and is in the permanent collections of museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The American Craft Museum and The Chase Manhattan Bank Collection. He has lectured and taught at the world renowned Pilchuck Glass School, Seattle; Penland School of Crafts, NC; Sumervail, Colorado; and the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence. See less
