This bi-level oak dresser was often called a “gentleman’s dresser”. and is of a type that was popular in the late 1800s and very early 1900s. The lower level offered a place for a gentleman’s hat. The beveled glass mirror swivels to adjust and retains almost all of its silvering.
It has one cabinet door above two drawers in the upper section and two larger drawers below. The drawers are dovetailed on the sides. The two bottom drawers have the original keyhole (no key).
The dresser and mirror are both in very good vintage condition. Both show signs of use consistent with their age. There are imperfections such as scratches, dings, nicks, and stains. There is a large dark spot on the top of the higher side. The dresser is 79 inches tall to the top of the mirror. The lower tier is 22 3/4 inches high and the upper tier is 44 3/4 inches high. It is 42 1/2 inches wide with the upper tier being 16 1/2 inches wide. It is 20 1/2 inches deep.

There is a large dark spot in the finish on the top of high side of the dresser. There are a few small scratches and nicks here and there appropriate to its age. The second drawer on the tall side has a different wire pull. The mirror has some loss of silvering. There are some splits in the backing wood of the tall drawer section that do not affect function. less
