A very unique Mediterranean-Style hand painted oval dish with a lid. It is a smaller shape than a normal vegetable bowl so would be suitable for candy or many other things along with just simply a decorative piece.

It's eye-catching style has yellow and green hand painted flowers and leaves. The lid has a leaf-like scroll applied handle. The sides are ribbed (fluted) and the lid has embossed semi-circles.

I have not been able to find anything remotely like it to identify the maker and age, however, there is overall tight crazing and the base is marked Made in Italy along with the number 1288. There is an impressed mark which appears to be a pitcher, or jug. I am not familiar with this Italian Pottery.

Condition is excellent other than the noted crazing.

Size: 4.75" high to top of handle, 8" long x 7" wide.
