Crafted in France circa 1920, the petite chair is inspired by the celebrated designs of Michael Thonet and features a warm, richly patinated wood frame with a natural woven cane seat.

The gently curved backrest is framed by two turned uprights topped with decorative finials. Three slender, turned spindles connect the arched upper rail to a curved lower support, creating an open and airy silhouette. The gracefully sweeping bentwood arms extend from the back posts, flowing into the front legs in a continuous curved design. The circular seat is fitted with traditional woven cane, adding texture and lightness to the composition.

The four subtly splayed legs provide a distinctive silhouette, while the smooth contours and restrained ornamentation reflect the influence of Thonet’s innovative bentwood furniture.

The antique child’s armchair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining a rich walnut-colored patina with subtle signs of age that enhance its character. A delightful decorative accent for a child’s bedroom, nursery, or collection of miniature antique furniture.
