A rare, unique and functional curious … Read more Vintage, likely c. 1980's medium sized ivory color resin, modernist biomorphic nautilus shell bowl. A rare, unique and functional curious artifact sculpted from resin with a perfectly smooth sanded finish. Curvaceous, shapely form with high, thick body and shallow bowl which can be used for resting keys, jewelry, or other small objects. The history of this item is unknown with no info. Found in extensive research. So it's origin is a mystery. Black felt bottom to prevent scuffing and scratching. Small barely noticeable dent inside bottom of bowl, tiny flea bite on top edge(more felt than seen) with no other imperfections to note. Small illegible characters carved in bottom (may be a number?).This conversation piece has substantial weight for its size as it is not hollow. Very much in line with the modern minimalist design aesthetic of the 1980's.
