Extraordinary objects of art and decoration, these masks come from the shamanic beliefs and rituals of the indigenous Embera tribes of Panama. Through shamans, the Embera come into contact with the "jets", which are nature spirits found in both animals and plants. These masks are made by Embera women in the heart of the Panamanian rainforest. After being harvested, the palm leaves are dried, sun-bleached and dyed with natural dyes. Then begins a fantastic creative work\. which requires not only a major artistic sense but also an unparalleled know-how that only the women of the tribe possess.
