Circa Late 19th Century. It is Completely Hand Made - Bench Made - One of Kind ( Not Factory Produced ). It is Made Out of an Assortment of Indigenous North American Woods that Include Oak, Pine & Chestnut. Metal Components Include Assorted Steel - Tin Hardware, Oil Cloth & Leather. It has a Unusual Hand and Thumb - Spring Hinged Functional Operation. I Purchased this Piece on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Down East - Coastal Maine Region where Blueberries are Abundantly Harvested and Sold at Local Roadside Farm Stands During the early Summer Months. It is in Completely Original - As has Survived Over the Years Condition ( Barn Fresh ). It has Been Used Extensively Over the Years - Many Seasons and Along the Way it has Acquired Numerous Old Repairs that include a Very Old Replacement Pine Side Panel, Cloth Patch on the Oil Cloth Top Etc. Giving it a Wonderful Natural Age and Use Related Patina that Can Not be Duplicated - Displays Very Nicely.
