Excellent Pre-Owned Condition.
Fabulous pair of earthenware jugs that are distinctly different yet beautifully compatible. The juxtaposition of the creamy background on the Franciscan Ware jug with the bright white hue of the Tiffany & Co. jug makes them perfect vessels for displaying live (or faux) blooms or for use as decorative accents. They are both in excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. There are random glaze pops that occurred during firing (when air bubbles reached the surface of the glaze and burst) on the interior of the Tiffany & Co. jug (see photo 8) that does not affect its beauty or utility. Here’s the specs on each:
Tiffany & Co. jug: 7” x 6” x 4 ¼” H/W/D; weight 1 lb. 4 oz.; handcrafted in Lisbon, Portugal
Franciscan Ware Apple jug: 6½” x 7¾” x 4½” H/W/D; weight 1 lb. 3 oz.; handcrafted in California
Makers marks on the underside of each jug. For a collector of vintage earthenware jugs, these beauties should be a must have or the perfect gift for someone who is.
