This wonderful classic Chinoiserie fabric sample is block printed in England on a plain weave cotton. Arthur Lee founded the fabric company that acquired JOFA (Johnson & Faulkner) in 1965 and became Lee-Jofa.
Deirdre’s Bio:
This comes from the archives of Deirdre Coughlin, founder of Phoebe’s Closet. She specializes in antique textiles and sold them to many New York City Designers including Ralph Lauren (that’s how I know her,) Charlotte Moss, Martha Stewart, and Schumacher, among many others.
