The scenes are rendered in puce monochrome on white reserves, framed by richly gilded rocaille cartouches and set against a vibrant yellow ground. The vases are further enhanced with fine gilt-bronze mounts at the bases and rims. Each is marked on the underside in underglaze blue, most likely the Helena Wolfshon Augustus Rex mark, as shown.

Wonderfully decorative, this pair displays beautifully in a vitrine, on a mantel, or as part of a symmetrical tabletop arrangement.
