Its … Read more This rare Japonisme Art Nouveau period tall art glass vase, crafted circa 1890-1910, is a testament to timeless elegance. Its acid etched textured surface gracefully contrasts with clear glass lilies and a butterfly outlined in gilt enamel. The vase has a curved body, square mouth, and stands on a pyramidal foot – a distinctive shape known as Lotus which is typical of Baccarat. This suggests a collaboration between the two firms, with Baccarat providing the crystal and Daum Nancy adding the exquisite etched and enameled decoration.

The vase bears a hand incised "DAUM NANCY FRANCE" inscription, accompanied by the iconic Cross of Lorraine, all etched into the glass on the underside. Baccarat pieces from this period were typically identified with paper labels, but few of these labels have survived.
