A story has followed this extraordinary chair on its journey to us, growing in the telling but probably containing a grain of truth, that the chair was made for a very successful bad guy, bringing to mind the hectic fantasies of elaborate hideouts on the lines of Rancho Notorious. And the chair certainly lives up to its billing. The tooling of the leather and the carving of the wood is spectacular. It would be an understatemnet to call the chair one of a kind.
Measures 60" high x 28 1/2" wide x 21" deep. Seat height 18". Upholstered in striped velvet and bison hide.
