Exquisite matching pair of 19th-century Meissen porcelain Augustus Rex compotes. These stunning pieces feature intricate designs of butterflies, birds, and insects, beautifully rendered in vibrant colors with minute details. Each compote showcases over sixty-five painted birds and insects, featuring rich hues of red, blue, and green, depicting pheasants, peacocks, moths, butterflies, bees, beetles, swans, and flamingos. They are adorned with gold gilt trim and elegant scrollwork.
Both compotes are in wonderful condition, with no chips or repairs, and include their original hardware. Each measures 6.6 inches in height and 9 inches across. Please note that this listing is for the pair, and each compote will be shipped individually.
