China has a very long history of bamboo basketry. It can be traced to as early as the New Stone Age (about 10,000 BC), that's why the most complicated bamboo basketry techniques and a wide variety of bamboo products are from this country. The basket you are looking for is made of a thin slice of bamboo strips. It has a gold ingot shape and peony flowers pattern. This kind of baskets was used as Dim Sum containers in the old-time, now you can use them for miscellaneous storage purposes or just for decoration only.
