A superb Secessionist style ceramic Majolica vase made by Sarreguemines circa 1900, all four sides present a beautiful Art Nouveau floral and vine pattern of pink and white buds and blossoms and green foliage against a cream background, around the top and bottom of the vase is a floral and dart pattern in light and dark blue. The square vase measures 7" at the bottom and 6 5/8" at the top, and 15 5/8" tall. On the bottom of the vase is impressed: Majolica Sarreguemines, In script: Sarreguemines with an over script, "L" and Y625.
The vase is in excellent condition with no imperfections.
The Sarreguemines pottery was established about 1784 in France and produced most of the original tiles used during the construction of the Paris metro. The company ceased production in 2007 and was subsequently liquidated.
