What makes this … Read more An exceptional mid to late 19th century English bankers scale made by W. T. Avery, Ltd, Birmingham. What makes this scale exceptional is the excellent condition of the decorative design on its hand wrought frame consisting of a black lacquer base color with gilt decorations highlighted with red lacquer. The pans which are 5" in diameter and chains are polished brass. It also retains its original mahogany base board which is almost always missing. The scale has been professionally restored in England and is in perfect working condition. A true gem for the scale collector or an exceptional accent to any room. The scale will be shipped disassembled with reassembly instructions that require only a small screwdriver and about 5 minutes of time. See less
