Indulge in the lavish splendor of the French Empire era with our magnificent 19th Century Gilt Bronze Table/Chimney Clock, crafted around 1800-1805, radiating opulence and romance in equal measure. Adorned with original gilding meticulously preserved through careful cleaning, this clock exudes timeless elegance and sophistication.
The intricately decorated base stands upon four ornate legs, resplendent with lavish garlands (guirlandes) symbolizing luxury, adorned with wreaths of stars and hearts ablaze with passionate love. At the center of the base, a poignant scene unfolds—a queen granting her daughter permission to marry, a testament to the enduring bonds of love and family.
Atop the base, the clock case features an enamel dial with Latin numerals, signed by P.F Rouchouze of Bordeaux, housing an eight-day movement driven by silk rope suspension.
