The elegant shape and lack of bulk presented a perfect size to fit into a one's attire. This bottle is a product of mid 20th century when the snuff bottle maker had a wide range of materials to make his choice. He picked a jasper stone that came from the sea and decided to carve the bottle taking advantage of the colorful striations. He made a teardrop shape with a small oval foot. It is easy to tell it is a hand carved bottle with help from a lathe that gave it the nice smooth finish and that good to the touch. The top rim is not 100 smooth, unlike machine turned bottles. The top is an agate on a black collor. The weight is light, as it is well hollowed. See less
