European Earthenware Bowl With Sponge Wear Polychrome Glaze. Large footed vessel with a hand-turned tapered conical form finished in a cream ground accented with polychrome glazes in organic greens and browns under a transparent glaze, creating a marbled/sponge wear effect as the glaze ran. I have read that this technique derives from the influence of early Chinese sensai pieces. NOTE: I have a complimentary bowl listed in my shop if you are looking for a pair.
