The body and arms are made of opalescent Murano glass of the most luminous quality. In the 16th century, opaline glass was made from the calcium phosphate coming from the calcination of bone. Opaline is also made from phosphate rock. The opaline was then infused with 24KT gold particles.

The reddish and raspberry-pink color was achieved by adding selected chemical compounds to the silica during melting.
