A beautiful anatomical model of a heart modeled in burnished black clay.
From a family-run studio in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca. Unique to the region, the black clay in extracted from the surrounding hills, cleaned for over a month of impurities, and then hand-molded into shape and decorated which can take up to 20 days. After three weeks of drying, the pieces are hand-burnished and then fired.
This piece displays beautifully on a wall or may be placed on a table. Signed by the artist.
