A fine pair of antique French Louis XVI
gilt wood armchairs in a tailored, angular and clean design transitioning toward Directoire style. The chairs have a squared off but contoured seat back, a comfortable spring supported seat and padded fabric armrests. Beautiful carved details include elegantly tapered and fluted legs with corner rosettes and fine beaded/egg and dart trim details. The genuine gilded finish shows age and beautiful patina while overall remaining glossy and bright.
The fabric is serviceable but easily replaced with your coordinating fabric. The springs and supporting structure appear to be in very good condition. Upholstery services available upon request.
