Offering a colorful, charming hanging pottery bowl hanging by a vintage French “Cordelier,” the type with which lighting bowls were hung. (With three holes in the bowl, it most assuredly was intended to hang from inception.)
The bowl is marked, but the marking is difficult to make out. I’m speculating that it’s a Japanese mark, certainly pre-WWII, as the design and colors are typical of that era.
Use this for a floral display, or if you’re feeling more adventurous, an ikebana arrangement. Can you imagine wisteria hanging over the edges, or perhaps nasturtium? I can!
Measurements: The bowl’s about 7 ¼ inches across, and 2 ¼ deep. As shown with this Cordelier, the length is 23 inches. If you want to make it shorter, just tie a knot in each of the three cords.
