This 18th Century Chippendale chair George III period mahogany side chair is nicely executed, in the style of Thomas Chippendale.
Mid-Atlantic United States, circa 1765.
The back featured a shaped crest rail over a pierced gothic splat back and a needlepoint upholstered seat featuring a central bird of paradise and foliage woven in tapestry. Tapestry has wear and two damaged sections as shown in photos which may be repaired through conservation.
